There’s no doubt about it – our culture continues softening on open relationships. We wouldn’t classify the recent surge in open relationship interest as a monogamy exodus, at least not quite yet, but its definitely in an uptick. And nothing is more reflective of social shifts than celebrity culture.
Sure, we aren’t reading celebrity gossip mags to find out how we should live our lives. Nope. But, it’s OK to recognize and observe social changes through celebrity culture. In this case, we’re talking celebrities who are into open relationships.

I mean, why not start with two of the most infamous open relationship folks – The Smiths.
In a way, we don’t love glorifying their open relationship status as they’ve commonly been embroiled in relationship dramas. But that’s more for the slap heard round the world and less for their affinity towards an open relationship status.
“I’ve always told Will, ‘You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be OK,’” the star told HuffPost Live. “Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I’m here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that’s not for me to do for him. Or vice versa.”
Smith made excellent point regarding the benefits of an open relationship during a now famous Oprah interview.

A celebrity post wouldn’t be a celebrity post without a Kardashian appearance. No surprise that Kim Kardashian would experiment with cultural shifts, particularly in the romance category. It’s been reported that Kim and Nick Cannon were in an open relationship during their romantic run.

The super-sexy, iconic, power couple of Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox are glowing examples of how an open relationship can work. Let’s be honest, it would be easy to feel insecure with a woman of Megan Fox’s caliber swinging with another man – unless, of course, you understand the value of an open relationship – particularly when it comes to making couples stronger.
